About this site

Launched in 2019, Prince Albert: His Life & Legacy is the result of a major effort by Royal Collection Trust and Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 to make a large body of materials relating to Prince Albert available to the public in a digital collection. Alongside this central effort, a postdoctoral research fellow explored some of the means for working with and enhancing the collection in order to increase awareness and understanding of it, as well as to elucidate its internal and external connections. This small companion website to the Prince Albert: His Life & Legacy site is one of the results of that research.

Acting as a small set of case studies, it presents a series of project outputs, including interactive network visualisations of the correspondence behind two of Prince Albert’s major undertakings (The Raphael Collection and the Exhibition of 1851).
